Gerard Wen , Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Business Development team, Gerard brings his unique combination of financial acumen and passion for building and growing business relationships to AESI.

After graduating from University of California, Berkeley, and becoming a CPA, Gerard fast-tracked to Partner in a “Big 4” KPMG predecessor national public accounting firm.  His clients included permanent placement and contingent labor firms.

Gerard then took his experience and skills to the garbage and recycling industry, where he spearheaded 27 acquisitions, joint ventures, multi-year contracts/extensions representing $525M in new business, starting as CFO and Assistant General Manager, and exiting as President and CFO, when the companies were sold to a Fortune 200 company.  He continued to build, learn and acquire new knowledge and experience in the fields of consulting, franchising, hands-on manufacturing, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), front-line IT and help desk, and as Chief Administrative Officer for a water and fire restoration company.

His volunteer background includes over 25 years with the American Red Cross in various capacities, including Chapter Chair, Regional Chair and Chair of a national committee.  He has also been involved with Friends of the Guadalupe River Park, International Facility Management Association-Silicon Valley, Institute of Management Accountants-Peninsula-Palo Alto, and Adobe Meadow Neighborhood Association.  Gerard is currently serving on the Board of Asian Commercial Professionals, and as their Chair of Communications and Marketing.
